Clay, paper, still life, digital techniques. It’s all fair game for animator and illustrator Rob Donnelly. “I never really settled on one style of working,” confesses Rob, whose work has been recognized by The Society of Illustrators, American Illustration, and the Magazine Publishers of America.
Rob’s artistic talents have contributed to stories for NBC News, Slate.com, and The Washington Post, among others. He also created animation for an Annenberg Foundation documentary series on the US Constitution. What unites his approach to these eclectic projects? “A sense of playfulness, trying to look at the world a little differently, and not taking myself too seriously,” he says.
Rob came to Vermont 10 years ago by way of law school—more precisely, when his wife went to law school. The two looked around and decided the Green Mountain State would be a great place to raise kids. They now have two.
